
The Director, Counter Proliferation Section is responsible for:
• Providing high level, strategic policy advice to the
Customs and Border Protection Executive on the design and operation of
Australia’s border controls for goods of counter proliferation
concern.
• Implementing the priorities set out in the Annual Plan to
address national security, as they relate to goods of counter
proliferation concern.
• Collaborating with both external and internal stakeholders to
develop and implement whole of Government policy initiatives and
effective border controls.
• Reporting to the National Manager on performance against the
Work Area Plan, including on the implementation of national improvement activities.
• Leading a small team of staff, managing their performance, and
developing their knowledge and skills, including through participation
in the Performance Assessment Feedback process.
• Leading periodic national projects to achieve national
consistency, and gather information on the effectiveness of controls.
• Representing Customs and Border Protection at inter-departmental
committees, policy and international forums.
• Supporting strong leadership of the Branch as an active member
of its Executive Group.
