
The position involves undertaking a variety of tasks in relation to
infrastructure building maintenance and operation. The occupant is
expected to work under limited supervision and be able to assist in the
day-to-day operations of the Infrastructure ACT. This includes assisting
in the building maintenance requirement, relocation of furniture and
staff and the escorting and management of contractors.
The occupant works directly to the Infrastructure Manager ACT and has
supervisory responsibilities for one CL2 staff and one CL1 staff
members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise a team responsible for the ACT facilities management
co-ordination. This includes:
• Providing specialist and high level facilities management advice
to clients;
• Issue management of faults with Customs and Border Protection
service provider UGS;
• Liaising extensively with service providers, building owners and
contractors and regional based facilities management staff;
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with
key stakeholders, such as Security, and other areas in Property;
• Delivering timely and professional facilities management
services to all tenancies within the ACT.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and that Customs
achieves value for money in purchasing decisions;
• Providing knowledge of business needs and ensuring business
outcomes are achieved
• Researching, analysing and recommending appropriate solutions
for facilities management matters.
2. Ensure staff working in the facilities management role are
adequately trained and supported and operate in accordance with
appropriate governance, referral, management and communication
frameworks.
3. Contribute as an integral member of the National Property Management Directorate.
4. Ensure full compliance with Customs and APS policies and statutory
requirements, as well as statutory procurement and construction
requirements.
5. Lead, develop, mentor and supervise staff. 6. Maintain
accountability for property operating expenditure and exercise
appropriate financial and resource delegations.
